My Year 2000 Visit

I went to visit my Great Aunt again this year. Akehurst Black Velvet and Akehurst Bluebell have been sold and this year I rode a slightly smaller pony called Edward Bonnie Blue, pictured here with me on the left. Since then she has been sold. Here she is in her old field with her four year old daughter, below.
Edward Bonnie Blue and I BRING US IN, IT'S TOO HOT FOR BLACK PONIES!!! There was a new horse-box and we used it for the first time going to Camber Sands.

There are two foals this year. They are living in a field with Akehurst Primrose,Akehurst Rainbow, Akehurst Smooth as Silk and Akehurst Heather.

I met most of the ponies from last year again and Akehurst Rainbow and Akehurst Smooth as silk never let me forget that they were around. Akehurst Rainbow Akehurst Smooth As Silk

I was even allowed to ride the very dangerous (NOT!!!) Waterside Griffin (Mr Hyde). Here is Becky riding Waterside Griffin. Becky on Waterside Griffin

And here below is Griffin being very much a Devil!

I think the best bit of my holiday was when we rode up on the South Downs. There was a beautiful view andwe had a great time.

Enjoying ourselves on th South Downs

They have been to some shows earlier this year, before I arrived. One of the foals, Akehurst Princess Rose, and her mum, Akehurst Primrose, went to Chiddingly Horse show. Akehurst Primrose turned 21 earlier this year and although she didn't attend it herself, a birthday ride on the south downs was held. Many Dales ponies attended the ride, including Akehurst Bluebell and her new owner.
